Engineered Freestanding Runway Systems
Crane-Tec freestanding runway systems are a perfect solution for customer in an existing facility that wasn’t designed to accommodate overhead cranes. Our freestanding runway systems are installed on your existing floor typically without footers
Our runway systems are designed with bolted connections with the idea that you might want to move the system to another location in the future. The runway systems are also designed to make future expansion as easy as possible.
Feature and benefits of Crane-Tec Freestanding Runway Systems:
-
Each system is customized for your building and lifting applications
-
Capacities from 1 ton to 20 ton
-
Easily relocated
-
Designed for low headroom
-
Quick ship delivery available
-
Inverter controlled bridge and trolley drives
-
Standard independent traveling pendant station
-
Spans up to 90 feet and any runway length available
-
Runway electrification
This project included the installation of a 20 ton top running double box girder crane and freestanding runway system. As a part of the certification process, a weight test was conducted at 125% load capacity.
Project Highlight
Crane-Tec also Utilizes Spanco Cranes for Workstation Applications:
Workstation Bridge Cranes
With a Spanco Workstation Bridge Crane, loads from 250 to 4,000 pounds can be easily moved along the bridge to any point within the rectangle formed by the two runways.
Advantages of Spanco Workstation Bridge Cranes
-
Eliminate manual lifting: empower a single worker to move loads from one work station to another.
-
Supplement or replace multiple jib cranes and/or forklifts.
-
Free-up your existing overhead cranes for larger loads: use your Spanco Freestanding Workstation Bridge Crane to move loads up to two tons quickly.
-
Install flexibility: freestanding bridge cranes are ideal for rented facilities or when workflow changes are necessary; they are easily relocated and typically require a standard reinforced concrete foundation.
These durable enclosed track workstation cranes can be fully customized, including telescoping or cantilevered bridges, tractor drives, mixed-capacity systems, and more.
Easier to Operate
-
Spanco enclosed track systems are easier to operate and control than patented track systems.
-
Our low-profile steel track allows for greater use of ceiling space.
-
The track’s “V” shaped profile prevents dirt accumulation inside tracks and maintains end truck and trolley-wheel alignment, ensuring smooth movement.
-
Sturdy trussed steel track permits increased spans, meaning fewer supports are needed for runways, and overhead space is kept clear.
-
Large diameter polyamide wheels provide smooth, ergonomic movement and long operating life. Optional steel wheels are available. Spark-resistant bronze wheels are available for hazardous applications (500 track only).
-
For heavier or repetitive loads or travel over inaccessible areas, add a tractor drive for enclosed track systems.
